THE Chairman of Chama Cha Mapinduzi 
(CCM) ruling party, President Jakaya Kikwete, arrived here yesterday to 
grace the 36 years anniversary celebrations which are to be held here 
today.
Upon his arrival, President Kikwete was received by thousands of 
people, including CCM leaders and other dignitaries from neighbouring 
countries. The CCM Vice-Chairman (Mainland), Mr Philip Mangula, 
Secretary General Abdulrhaman Kinana and NEC Secretariat members: Dr Asha- Rose Migiro, the Secretary -Politics and International 
Relations and Nape Nnauye, the Secretary for Ideology and Publicity,met 
the president at the airport. The celebrations will be held today at 
Lake Tanganyika Grounds, in Kigoma Town.
The Secretary General of the ruling party of the Democratic Republic 
of Congo, Mr Evarist Boshabe, was among the visitors who arrived 
yesterday morning to grace the celebrations. Speaking shortly after the 
arrival, the Ideology and Publicity Secretary of the Congolese party, 
Tanzania Branch, Mr Emannuel Mbashwa, said that Mr Bosheba's presence 
demonstrated support and commitment to President Kikwete's initiative in
 the development of Kigoma Region. "Kigoma has really developed compared to 15 years back... many 
infrastructures have been instituted opening business opportunities 
between the two countries," he said. Meanwhile, President Kikwete is 
expected tomorrow to lay a foundation stone at Malagarasi Bridge 
construction located in Uvinza District.
